5 Tips to Making the Most of Your CloudWorld Experience

Conferences are a big investment of time, energy and money, so you want to be prepared and make the most of your experience.

Here are 5 tips of how to maximize CloudWorld:

  1. Meet with Remend

Before you leave for Las Vegas, schedule a 30-minute meeting with Remend to learn how we can help you:

  • Save money on your Oracle contracts and service agreements
  • Respond to an audit letter or unexpected and sizable license shortfall claim from Oracle

Spend a little time with us (Ed Tybursky or Eric Guyer) to see how we can improve your bottom line.

  1. Walk the exhibit floor to meet service providers

CloudWorld Hub is your one-stop destination to connect with like-minded peers and experts to experience new innovations and the latest technologies. A variety of activities will be available from AI robo sketch, neuro wave art, Oracle TV, ORBR race simulator, product demos, etc.

You can also take a break to grab a cup of coffee at the recharge lounge, relax with a therapy dog, watch an artist personalize a moleskin just for you or play a game of pickleball.

Who doesn’t love swag? Don’t forget to stop by the Swag Station to grab your Oracle CloudWorld gear that is included with your registration.

  1. Plan ahead to attend learning and speaker opportunities

It can be overwhelming to arrive at a conference and then see a packed agenda with speakers, endless learning sessions, demonstrations, etc. Make it easier on yourself and preplan what you absolutely want to attend and what are optional opportunities.

Here are a few quick links to get you started:

  • Keynote Speakers — Oracle leaders share the latest announcements, real-world lessons and expert insights on AI. Get inspired by innovative customers and walk away with cutting edge ideas to solve your biggest challenges.
  • Featured Speakers — Visionary leaders share the real-world lessons and insights they’ve collected while solving their biggest business challenges with Oracle technologies. Hear about successful projects, product innovations, and industry trends.
  • Learning Sessions – These 45-minute sessions cover real-world use cases for applications, cloud infrastructure, databases, developer tools, AI services and more.
  • Theater Sessions and Demos – In these 20-minute sessions and demos from Oracle and their partners, you’ll experience cloud technology in action.
  • Hands-on Labs — Take advantage of classrooms where you can build an app or set up your own database query. Experience Oracle technology firsthand and apply what you’ve learned with guided, hands-on labs.

Once you have an idea of the sessions you want to attend, pick a method to create your custom schedule:

  • Use the “Add to Schedule” feature on CloudWorld’s website. Note that you will be asked to log in to your Oracle account to use this feature.
  • Add the session to your work calendar so it’s easily accessible on your smartphone. (Make sure to set a notification for 15 minutes before the start to give you time to get the location.
  • Print out the agenda and highlight the “must dos” in a different color than the “maybe” sessions. This can be easier to access than fumbling with a smartphone. Plus, you can easily share it with others to start a conversation.
  1. Networking

The value of a conference typically lies in the people you meet and the connections you make. At CloudWorld, Oracle has scheduled some great opportunities – from a welcome reception to networking lounges and coffee breaks — for you to mix and mingle to grow your network, see old friends and meet new acquaintances.

And let’s not forget about The Party! Enjoy an evening of great music from one of America’s most iconic bands. Journey will be on stage, Wednesday, September 11 from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Attendees also gravitate towards hotel bars, coffee shops, casinos and restaurants to meet up with each other, so there’s always an opportunity to expand your professional circle.

Keep your eyes open! You may run into Ed Tybursky at a nearby coffee shop.

  1. Experience the Sphere

Seriously! Get out of the convention center and your hotel room and experience one of the most amazing architectural marvels in the world.

Here are a few interesting facts about the Sphere:

  • The area of a Sphere was used to calculate the square footage of the Exosphere, which features 580,000 sq feet of LEDs — a creative canvas so bold and bright you can see it from space!
  • Did you know you can fit the entire Statue of Liberty inside of Sphere? The volume of a Sphere was used to calculate the interior square footage of the venue and maximize the size of its immersive technologies – from the 160,000 sq ft LED media plane (that’s 4x football fields!) to the 17,385 seats inside the Bowl.
  • What goes into constructing the world’s largest Spherical building? A lot of triangles. If you look closely at Sphere’s exoskeleton, you’ll see the laws of Geodesic Math in action – where hundreds of interlocking triangles create the 360° shape and structure for this world-first immersive venue.
